After releasing three studio albums under the imperious mantle of Sony Music, it seems Kate Miller-Heidke is finally going it alone as an independent artist. Through a new profile at PledgeMusic, she’s appealing to her fans to help her fund her new album, O Vertigo! – the songs are ready to go, she just needs the moolah to record, produce and promote it.
$10 guarantees you a digital copy once it’s finished, but die-hard fans can pay a little more and get some nice exclusives, everything from a personal phone call from Kate on your birthday, an invitation to her first listen party, or even a private acoustic gig at your house. Some of these are already sold out, but there’s still plenty of KMH swag available.
The site itself has more information, as well as an explanatory video from Kate herself (with a hilarious cameo from Amanda Palmer). You can also listen to a live recording of the album’s titular single, but for the chronically lazy among you, I’ll embed it here as well.
